ATP BNP Paribas Open analysis


Nadal has dominated his first 2 matches, dropping just 6 games, and now plays Devvarman, who has gone through 19th seed Baghdatis, in the last 16.

Montanes has passed both 11th seed Almagro and Nieminen in 3 sets. He will play the dangerous Karlovic, who has beaten both sixth seed Ferrer and 28th seed Simon in straight sets.

Kohlscheriber has played brilliantly to make the last 16 and beat the qualifier, Smyczek, in 3 sets as well as fourth seed, Soderling, in straight sets. He will play the reemergent Del Potro, who has beaten 11th seed Ljubicic in 3 sets and 20th seed Dolgopolov in straight sets.

21st seed Querrey has won difficult matches against Tipsarevic and 9th seed, Verdasco in straight sets. In the last 16 he will play 25th seed Robredo, who beat Young and Zverev in 2 and 3 sets respectively.

Roddick has made the last 32, by beating Blake in straight sets and will play big serving Isner, 30th seed, who beat Mello in straight sets.

Gasquet, 18th seed, beat Cuevas in straight sets to set up a last 32 meeting with 10th seed Melzer, who beat Benneteau in 3 sets.

Troicki needed just 2 sets to beat Tomic and set up a match against 24th seed Llodra, who beat Giraldo in 2 sets.

The 31st seed, Gulbis, who beat Lu in 3 sets, will have a tough match with third seed Djokovic, who beat Golubev in straight sets.

Berdych, seventh seed, beat Kubot in 2 sets to set up a meeting with 26th seed bellucci, who beat Becker in 2 sets.

17th seed Cilic beat Serra in straight sets to set up a last 32 meeting with Wawrinka, who won his first match in 3 sets, against Davydenko.

The upcoming star, Raonic won his first 2 matches without dropping a set and now faces Harrison in the last 32, who beat 22nd seed Garcia-Lopez in the previous round.

29th seed Chela won his first match in straight sets to set up a hard match against 2nd seed, Federer.
