Fish beat Mannarino 6-1, 6-4. The fourth seed eases past Mannarino in 2 sets.

Anderson beat Luczak 6-4, 6-4. Only two sets are needed for Anderson to beat Luczak.

Baghdatis beat Serra 3-6, 7-5, 6-4. Baghdatis did well to up his game, after losing the first set to Serra.

Berankis beat Clement 6-4, 6-3. Clement is beaten in straight sets by Berankis.

Becker beat Verdasco 6-1, 6-7(2), 6-3. Becker dumps the third seed out of the competition in three sets, losing a second set tie breaker.

WTA Brisbane


Safarova beat Peer 3-6, 6-1, 7-5. The second seed is shocked by Safarova in 3 sets.

Pavlychenkova beat Jovanovski 6-2, 7-5. The fifth seed doesn't have much trouble defeating Jovanovski in straight sets.

Groth beat Stosur 6-2, 6-4. The top seed joins the second seed out of the tournament, after being shocked by Groth in straight sets.

Vinci beat Mchale 6-2, 7-6(2), Vinci needs two sets and a second set tie breaker to beat Mchale.

Arn beat Ondraskova 6-1, 6-0. Arn drops just one game on the way to beating Ondraskova in straight sets.

Lisicki beat Molinero 6-1, 6-3. Lisicki drops 4 games in a straight sets win against Molinero.

Arvidsson beat Paszek 6-3, 6-1. The eighth seed eases past Paszek at the cost of 4 games.

Wickmayer beat Safina 6-3, 6-7(2), 6-1. The second seed overcomes Safina in 3 sets, losing a second set tie breaker.

Geroges beat Medina Grigues 6-4, 6-0. The fourth seed wins a second set bagel to advance to the next round.

Berdych beat Gil 6-0, 6-1. The top seed drops just one game on the way to thrashing Gil in straight sets.

Kohlschreiber beat Seppi 6-2, 6-4. The eighth seed eases past Seppi in 2 sets.

Nieminen beat Przysienzy 6-2, 3-6, 6-3. Nieminen needs 3 sets to beat Przysienzy and advance to the next round.

Gulbis beat Hanescu 6-3, 7-6(6). The fifth seed needs a close second set tie breaker to finish off Hanescu in straight sets.
