Australian Open Men's results day 5

Federer beat Malisse 6-3, 6-3, 6-1. The world number 2 and defending champion eases past Malisse in straight sets.

Djokovic beat Troicki 6-2, ret. The world number 3 has already won the first set when the 29th seed retires.

Berdych beat Gasquet 6-2, 7-6(3), 6-2. The sixth seed needs 3 sets and a tie breaker to beat the 28th seed.

Roddick beat Haase 2-6, 7-6(2), 6-2, 6-2. The eighth seed comes back from a set down to overcome Haase.

Almagro beat Ljubicic 6-4, 7-6(8), 6-3. The 14th seed needs 3 sets, including a close second set tie breaker, to overcome the 17th seed.

Robredo beat Stakhovsky 5-7, 6-2, 6-4, 6-2. Robredo comes back from a set down to defeat Stakhovsky in 4 sets and advance to the fourth round.

Verdasco beat Nishikori 6-2, 6-4, 6-3. The ninth seed eases past Nishikori in straight sets.

Wawrinka beat Monfils 7-6(3), 6-2, 6-3. The 19th seed needs just 3 sets to beat the 12th seed.
