Australian Open Women's results day 1

Wozniacki beat Dulko 6-3, 6-4. The world number eases past Dulko in straight sets.

Williams beat Errani 6-3, 6-2. The fourth seed has no trouble beating Errani in straight sets.

Schiavone beat Parra Santonja 6-7(4), 6-2, 6-4. The sixth seed recovers from losing a first set tie breaker to win in 3.

Azarenka beat Woerie 6-0, 6-2. The eighth seed drops just 2 games and wins a first set bagel in an easy win over a qualifier.

Li beat Arvidsson 6-1, 7-5. The ninth seed has no trouble in a 2 set win over Arvidsson.

Henin beat Mirza 5-7, 6-3, 6-1. The 11th seed has to come back from a set down to beat the qualifier.

Sharapova beat Tanasugarn 6-1, 6-3. The fourteenth seed drops just 4 games on the way to victory over the Thai player.

Bartoli beat Garbin 6-0, 6-0. The fifteenth seed completes a double bagel over Garbin, a rare sight.

Strycova 6-0, 3-6, 7-5. The 17th seed is shocked by Stycova in 3, becoming the highest seed so far to exit.

Kanepi beat Rybarikova 2-6, 6-4, 6-3. The twentieth seed has to come back from a set down to overcome the Slovakian.

Wickmayer beat Groth 6-3, 2-6, 6-4. Three sets are needed for the 21st seed to beat Groth.

Kuznetsova beat Riske 6-3, 6-2. The 23rd seed needs just 2 sets to beat Riske.

Kulikova beat Hantuchova 7-6(3), 3-6, 9-7. Kulikova shocks the 28th seed, winning a first set tie breaker and winning an epic 16 game final set.

Cibulkova beat Kerber 6-2, 6-7(4), 6-4. The 29th seed needs 3 sets to overcome Kerber.

Petkovic beat Craybas 6-1, 6-2. The 30th seed drops just 3 games on the way to beating Craybas.

Pironkova beat Parmentier 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. The 32nd seed needs 3 sets to beat the French player.

Goerges beat Gallovits-Hall 6-3, 4-6, 6-3. The German wins in 3 sets.

Sevastova beat Hercog 6-4, 7-6(5). Sevastova needs 2 sets and a tie breaker to beat Hercog.

Baltacha beat Hampton 3-6, 6-4, 7-5. The British player comes back from a set down to beat the qualifier.

Niculescu beat Bacsinszsky 6-0, 6-3. Niculescu eases past Bacsinszsky, winning a first set bagel and dropping just 3 games in the match.

Brianti beat Hradecka 6-4, 7-5. Brianti needs just 2 sets to advance to the second round.

King beat Paszek 6-7(4), 6-0, 6-4. King recovers from losing a first set tie breaker to win a second set bagel and finish the match 6-4 in the third set.

Zahlavova beat Voracova 6-3, 6-1. Zahlavova beat Voracova at the cost of just 4 games.

Hlavackova beat Mayr-Achleitner 7-5, 6-4. The Czech player wins in 2 sets.

Razzano beat Vesnina 4-6, 6-3, 6-3. Razzano comes back from a set down to beat Vesnina.

Marino beat Namigata 6-2, 4-6, 6-3. Marino needs 3 sets to beat Namigata.

Scheepers beat Sprem 4-6, 6-4, 6-2. Scheepers comes back from a set down to beat Sprem.

Rodina beat Rogowska 6-3, 6-1. The qualifier is easily beaten by Rodina, only winning 4 games.

Keothavong beat Rodionova 7-5, 6-4. The British qualifier needs just 2 sets to beat the Russian Qualifier.

Rus beat Mattek-Sands 6-1, 3-6, 7-5 . Mattek-Sands is beaten by the Dutch qualifier in 3 sets.

Manasieva beat Pous-Tio 7-5, 6-2 The Russian qualifier wins in 2 sets.

Dokic beat Ondraskova 6-3, 6-2. The wild card advances to the next round in straight sets.
