Youzhny beat Golubev 6-7(7), 6-2, 7-6(3). An absolutely epic match to finish an incredible tournament. Golubev narrowly took the first set 9-7 in the tie break, followed by Youzhny easily taking the next set. The match went to an epic last set finished in a close tie break, letting Youzhny take the title, the 250 points and the 850,000$ on offer.

ATP Bangkok

Garcia-Lopez beat Nieminen 6-4, 3-6, 6-4. The second final of the day ending in another 3 set match, however, not as close as the other one. Garcia-Lopez leapt to a 1-0 lead in sets only to be matched by Nieminen 6-3 in the next set. Then Garcia-Lopez makes one last push for the title, leaving with 250 points and 551,000$.

WTA Beijing


Kleybanova beat Lu 6-1, 6-0. The world number 27 utterly destroys the qualifer, dropping only 1 game.

Cibulkova beat Wickmayer 6-0, 7-6(6). The 33rd in the world eases past the 21st seed in straight sets.

Kirilenko beat Zhang 6-1, 6-0. Another match of utter destruction but this time it's the 26th seed that destroys the 84th seed.

Sharapova beat Pironkova 6-4, 7-6(5). After exiting in the first round at Tokyo last week, Sharapova fights through into the next round where she will face Vesnina.

Kivitova beat Pennetta 7-6(4), 6-1. Pennetta is shocked by Kvitova in straight sets.

Jovanoski beat Bondarenko 5-7, 6-4, 6-3. The battle of the qualifiers ends in Jovanoski coming from a set down to win.

Li beat Kudryavtseva 6-2, 6-0. The ninth seed at Tokyo destroys the qualifier, dropping just two games and will face Kleybanova.

Petrova beat Han 6-2, 6-2. The 13th seed destroys wild card Han, dropping just 4 games and will face Bondarenko.

Sevastova beat Stosur 2-6, 7-6(5), 7-5. The biggest shock of the tournament as forth seed Stosur is beaten by a qualifier, after being just a few points from victory. She will face Cibulkova in the next round.

Hercog beat Hantuchova 6-3, 0-6, 6-3. After collapsing in the second set, Hercog recovers to win in three and will play Schiavone in the next round.

Vinci beat Kuznetsova 6-3, 2-6, 6-4. Vinci pulls another shock, as she beats the 10th seed in three sets.

Dulko beat Rezai 6-4, 2-6, 6-4. A final shock to finish the day as 14th seed crashes out in similar style to the 10th seed. Her conquerer will face Kirilenko in the next round.
